Charity Shops - The Future

What's with the stigma surrounding the charity shops? Is it a status thing? Does it mean that you haven't made it in life if you shop in a chazza? So you have to shop where everyone else shops and look like everyone else looks. There's a clothes shop in Newcastle and one in Boro that sells "one offs" and custom gear. Most of it is second hand retro stuff that they probably picked up from jumble sales and charity shops that they've stuck a 20 note price tag on. People buy this stuff because they know they'll stand out from the crowd.

Be an individual, a nonconformist. Embrace the Bish charity shops.

Proper Art

Check out the I LOVE BISH Graffiti page. Brilliant works of art.

What goes through someones head to make them write KNOB across the screen? It was probably a split second decision to write it. And what's the context? Were they referring to a door knob? You've already made up your mind and judged it without being 100% sure what was going on. It's provocative and controversial. Such ambiguity makes it a great think piece.

Loads better than the crap you find in art galleries.

At Least Dick Turpin Wore A Mask

The bloke who works next to me in the factory brings home 300 notes a week. I do exactly the same job and get £240. Why's that? Because I work for an agency. Shafted!

100,000 hits a month?

I read on the Wear Valley Council website, that this website attracts 100,000 visits a month. I wouldn't mind generating that much traffic. If anyone has any hints on how i can improve my site to catch up with this one let me know.

Charities and Volunteer Groups

I would like to help to help promote any local charities and volunteer groups. I can sort a page out with all details and maybe even sort out a paypal donation page. Email me if you are interested.

Everybody Loves Bish

I designed this site to be a bit of a noticeboard for what's going on in Bish, thinking that people in Bish would log on and check it out. I launched the site in June and have had over a thousand visits so far, 179 from Bishop and the rest from all over the country (294 from London). It seems the power of Bishop Auckland stretches a bit further than I originally thought.

Viral Marketing

I'm trying to think of ways to get ILOVEBISH to go viral. I don't want t have to resort to the classics like an advert in the paper and a few flyers. I want it to be a bit cooler, like Banksy! So if you could do me a favour and tell people about my site, that would be nice.

I Love Bish Blog

I'm going to use this blog as an example, to show that you don't need to have a specific reason to blog. I'm just going to use it to ramble on about random things that might pop into my brainbox from time to time.
